Springtime Vibes

WeAreiDyll Records have become synonymous for their soulful house cuts infused with African flavour. The 41st release in their catalogue is no different. MYDIR brings the perfect vibe for springtime with this latest release. MYDIR has made a name for himself through his emotively driven productions, releasing with Bosom, INNU Records and Diesis Records. Garnering support along the way from Eelke Kleijn, Hanna Hais, Robin M and Tony Humphries. This EP is a metaphor for the personal journey MYDIR has experienced, leaving the humble beginnings of Doncaster in the UK to go travelling the world, shaping the artist before us today. First up on the EP is ‘Dreams’, right from the off funky bongos and congo drums setting the tone for this dreamy number. Building layers as the track progresses before introducing some heavenly vocal chants laced throughout. The result is a gorgeous track which has us dreaming of summer days dancing with friends and soaking up the rays. Next up is ‘End Of Days’ offering a deeper and darker contrast to the A-side. It starts with some shakers and eerie elements, with tambourine and flutes soon coming to the fore with these lighter elements signalling a new dawn. All capped off with some tribal vocals throughout. Rounding off this release is ‘Illusion’ a deep hypnotic beat. From the start, the beat combines with percussion, before long maracas and flutes lead this track into hypnosis allowing listeners to drift off into their own world. A truly mesmerising track. MYDIR ‘Awakening EP’ is out Friday 7 th April on WeAreiDyll Records.
